Performing Musicians

More and more performers of early music find themselves wanting to explore and understand the chant background on which so much sacred music is based. Joining the Society gives you access to the latest scholarly research in the field, as well as substantial discounts on the most widely used editions of chant.

The Society’s forthcoming web forum will allow you to make contact with other performers and share your experiences, as well as giving you an opportunity to promote your performances to potential audiences.

The scope of the Society’s journal, Plainsong and Medieval Music, covering the history of chant from its beginnings up to the present day, and all aspects of medieval monophonic and polyphonic music, and including an annually updated bibliography and discography as well as reviews of all major books and editions in the field, makes it indispensable to all students and scholars interested in the area.

Members of the Society receive the journal at a substantial discount, and through the Society’s events, including the annual conference, can meet and collaborate with others working in their field.
